Bait and switch practice on-line

They are a scam! Buyer beware bait and switch practice and refuse pick up return. Showed proof of wrong product delivered but they are useless and pass you around for days. Horrible and scary they are in business.

Lost package

Package was lost by FedEx. I understand that what I don't understand is instantly rebooking a order. Never again.

I am writing this review about Camp Abbott Ace Hardware in Sunriver, Oregon. This is an amazing store with anything and everything you could want. There is a guy named Rich who works there and who is the most helpful, knowledgeable, and nicest guys you could ever want to meet. I just love going to that store and now will spend extra money there as opposed to driving in to town to go to Walmart for much cheaper. Awesome store, awesome Rich, awesome everything!

I’d like to NOT have to shop at Amazon and at Ace instead but I literally CAN’T since they are charging $140 just for shipping within the US for a $19 bird feeder! This should be criminal!!

More expensive than home depot, and products are worse quality.

You don't have as many options either. Take screws for instance... I am dry walling and have gone through a dozen boxes of screws from home Depot without a glitch. I tried ace... I could only buy ace brand there, and they are more expensive... Nor were the larger boxes cheaper by the weight. You may expect higher cost to mean higher quality - Nope! When I used the ace screws, several snapped under the torque of my driver, and I kept getting painful metal splinters in my fingers from the spinning screws. Neither has ever happened to me using the drywall screws from HD... Plus screws are cheaper in bulk at HD. That's just one example... But after numerous bad experiences, I won't buy more ace brand. Closer proximity is not worth the extra expense to me.

Last week I had a key cut at Ace for my front door. I just purchased a home that was previously a rental and key had Do Not Duplicate. I have been in the store constantly for the past month and he said he recognized me and cut the key.
Today, I return to the store to get another key. This time I'm told they will not cut the key. I explained again that this was my front door key. The response: I don't know that.
Helpful reminder: If you're not paid to enter the store, you're called a CUSTOMER. Customers should always be treated with respect.
NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN! I have the choice of Home Depot, Lowes and local hardware. I have ALWAYS supported independently owned businesses but as I said above, I will NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN support Ace Hardware Stores!
All because of how I was treated over a $2 key!! Unbelievable!
Thankfully, my position as an educator in hospitality industry allows me the opportunity to share both positive and negative examples customer service experiences. I will be sharing my experience with ACE Hardware - Kissimmee Four Corners, with everyone I have the opportunity tell. You have already lost my business and that of any family members, though my true goal will be to encourage non family members not to shop at ACE Hardware Stores.

Purchased online gift

Purchased online gift. Store received on Tuesday, not advised of arrival until Friday. Went to the Ace Hardware Kuykendahl The Woodlands location to pick it up.
They had placed packing tape with a print out and completely wrapped the gift in wrinkled plastic tape with a typing paper sized receipt to the box. When I asked the female manager about it being a gift and the poorly packaged handling, she laughed at me and said you didn’t state on the purchase it was a gift. Seriously. Why should I have to. Why not put it in a bag for a customer to receive. The store employee at this location seemed entitled. They are not entitled to my money or business. And I will be taking it elsewhere.

Ace is the place with the hapless, hardware dolts.

Ace is the place with the hapless hardware dolts.

Zero stars is too generous a rating for the disservice and disrespect I received from Ace Hardware's cavalcade of contemptible curs. As far as I'm concerned, the entire operation couldn't go bankrupt fast enough to suit me.

I purchased an Ace component (for about $10.00) online that failed to live up to its product specifications due to poor workmanship and inferior materials. The product, manufactured by Ace, is clearly marked with an Ace "Promise" Satisfaction Guaranteed. Their, so-called, Satisfaction Guarantee isn't worth the cardboard it's printed on.

I called Ace customer service. The Ace agent instructed me to place an order for a replacement product online, using my credit card, and have the replacement item shipped to my local Ace store. I followed the Ace representatives directions to the letter. The Ace agent also instructed me to take the defective cord to my local Ace store. He said as soon as the old cord is returned to the Ace Hardware store, he would credit my credit card for the amount I paid for the replacement item. Once again, I followed the Ace customer service person's specific instructions verbatim.

Did I receive a refund? No. Instead, the Ace customer service person bamboozled me into thinking I would. I attempted to speak to a supervisor about this deception, but no Ace customer support agent would connect me to one.

Do yourself a favor, folks. Make your life a helluva lot easier by taking all your business to Ace's fine competitors. Unlike the belligerent, duplicitous nincompoops at Ace, these superior business entities treat a customer as a necessity, rather than an adversary.

There's an old adage in business. If you don't take care of the customer, somebody else will. Bye-bye Ace. You're a disgrace.

2266 Nostrand Ave ACE Hardware and Negligent Customer Service

My review will describe the horrible customer service of my local ACE hardware store, 2266 Nostrand Ave in Brooklyn, and it's corporate office. The staff at 2266 Nostrand Ave showed negligence when I asked about the return policy and they never acknowledged it. This consumer complaint has not been resolved and I was met with rudeness by the local store management, incompetence, and bureaucratic delay tactics. ACE's corporate customer service department was no help either.

I was misled about ACE's return policy and was told I could return my items with a receipt before 30 days. I was NEVER told by the store the items must be unopened. I requested a refund and even offered to accept store credit when I returned the "like new" items. My complaint was met with horrible customer service and a dismissive attitude.

My attempts to resolve this at the corporate level were unsuccessful also. I made four phone calls and ACE's customer service department reached out to the store twice. But, ACE's negligence was never acknowledged and I was even misdirected in an attempt to dismiss my efforts. This included telling me to apply to their Rewards Profile program. The 2266 Nostrand Ave store wanted me to go to another ACE hardware store and ask for a refund. These were classic misdirect tactics that are unacceptable. They show a attitude that does not value the customer experience nor value return customers. There was never an attempt to admit poor customer service and resolve the dispute. I feel I made every attempt to resolve this issue with the 2266 Nostrand Ave store and corporate headquarters.

Customers who wish to shop at ACE need to know how poor their customer service, from the local to the corporate level, really is. I hope this review helps customers when they decide if they will spend their hard earned money at the 2266 Nostrand Ave ACE store. I feel customers are better off taking advantage of better return policies at Loews or Home Depot.

On Christmas Eve I purchased a Sthil…

On Christmas Eve I purchased a Sthil BG50 leaf blower in Franklin, TN as a gift to my significant other. He has his own lawn service business and I thought this would make a nice addition to the one he already have....After further discussion, we realize that a different brand is wanted/ needed for the business so we decided to return the one that I got.
As we both pulled up into the parking lot of Dunnavant Valley Ace Hardware location, a male worker stood in the doorway watching us suspiciously as we got out of the car (my take). He then walks away and a female worker comes to the door to do the exact same thing. Once we approach her closer, she turns and walks away (no greeting at all). We proceeded to the register. A friendlier younger guy comes up and asked if we have return, then asked for the receipt. Before the young man could start the transaction, another male worker "marches" out of no where, removes the receipt from the salesman hand, quickly scans over it, then rudely tells us the that they are independently own; we would have to return the leaf blower to the store where purchased.
We wasn't even in the store a full three minutes and there is a nicer way to handle things.
Rules are rules and I'm all about following them.
But I'm still trying to figure out what was it about us that deserve such a cold treatment - from the parking lot to the register. I'm honestly puzzled???
Between the lawn business and my Etsy store, we visit Ace frequently to purchase supplies. I'm sad to say this will be our last time. I'll much rather take my business to a place where I'm not treated like I STOLE the item that I rightfully purchased.
Side note: Sending a huge THANK YOU to Ace Hardware-Bellevue in Tennessee for your friendly customer service that you provided last week. Each rep was extremely helpful on such a busy day. I walked away that day happy and proud of my purchase :)

Home Depot... it's both less expensive & better. You also have more variety and brands to choose from.
